Oregon CDOP Recognizes 11 Days of Nonviolence

Nearly 100 years before the World Trade Towers became associated with Sept. 11, Mohandas K. Gandhi launched the modern nonviolent movement on Sept 11, 1906. Gandhi's ability to overcome injustice without resorting to violence inspired millions throughout the century to do the same. These collective achievements provide the hope and promise that there is indeed another way. The Eugene Campaign for a Department of Peace is pleased to partner with the Peace Alliance in this anniversary tribute by coordinating the following series of events to Honor Nonviolence from Sept. 11, 2006 to Sept. 21, the International Day of Peace.
