A Post 9/11/01 Historic Teach-In Speak-Out Event
Shortly after the 9/11/2001 tragedy and one day after the US began bombing
Afghanistan (on October 8, 2001), We, The World and our co-sponsors convened
one of America's first major Teach-Ins to address the sources of the crisis,
alternatives to retaliation and what's needed in the future.
We brought together many of the world's foremost visionary thinkers and
activists to share information and discuss ideas that you are unlikely
to hear anywhere else. Now you can hear their moving and informative words
from this historic event. The CDs are beautifully recorded and
have track
numbers corresponding to each speaker's comments! So you can jump instantly
to each of Amy Goodman's pointed remarks, Daniel Ellsberg's passionate comments
or anyone else listed in the enclosed detailed program.
These panel discussions are particularly important now in light of the
fact that the Afghan war is still raging 10 years later.
Panelists shared ideas and information you are unlikely to hear anywhere
else. And there were many important ideas that emerged from the audience
as well.
These CDs can be used during discussion groups, salons, forums, in classrooms,
to spark debate, raise consciousness, and stimulate action. They are particularly
useful since each of the speaker's presentations has its own CD Track index
number!
(The format for each panel was as follows. Panelists addressed the audience
individually for approximately 10 minutes each. Then there was a discussion
among the panelists for about 15 minutes. The rest of the time was devoted
to questions and comments from the audience with responses from the panelists.)
