Help Species Alliance produce this history-making film and be part of the effort to avert the mass extinction!

WHAT IS THE MASS EXTINCTION?
Right now animal and plant species are disappearing at an unprecedented and alarming rate, as much as a thousand times faster than normal. Habitat loss, global warming, pollution, and other factors are causing an accelerating loss of biodiversity so acute that scientists are now calling it a mass extinction event, comparable to the one that wiped out the dinosaurs 65 million years ago. If current trends continue, within the lifetime of a child born today, half of all species on Earth will become extinct. Mass extinction threatens the fundamental biological systems necessary for all life. No one knows what this means for humanity, but the implications are shocking‹with the potential loss of human life in the billions. The good news is that we still have a chance to avert the worst of the crisis‹because human activity is causing it, we have the power to stop it‹but we must begin now.

You can help create awareness and inspire action through your support of Species Alliance and Call of Life. This is perhaps the greatest challenge humanity has ever faced‹yet most people have not even heard about it! Call of Life: Facing the Mass Extinction tells the story of a crisis in nature and in human nature. The film examines the ways in which we respond to challenge and unprecedented change in our world, and suggests that we have been given a great opportunity: one last chance to save the wealth of our planet, not only for ourselves, but for all future generations. Join Species Alliance in this amazing adventure‹with the future of life itself in the balance.
